Job summary

Trane Technologies in Maitland, FL is hiring an Equipment Estimator to join our team. You will interact with customers, account managers, and project teams to estimate costs and support bidding and project execution for HVAC systems.

The role requires reviewing plans, selecting equipment, and providing estimating support to the sales team. Candidates with a technical degree and HVAC knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology or business management preferred with 3–5 years in estimating, project management, engineering, HVAC or construction management.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
• Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines in a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Familiarity with the operation of HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean record for 12 months+

Responsibilities

• Review Plans & Specifications and develop cost estimates for Trane materials, sub-contractors, non-Trane equipment, labor, and other construction-related activities.
• Provide knowledge and consultation in facility-related solutions for the customer’s problems.
• Determine project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet HVAC design and installation requirements.
• Develop, evaluate, and discuss possible solutions with Account Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer.
• Coordinate selection, pricing, and integration of equipment, controls, and services for each project.
• Prepare, finalize, and review preliminary and final proposals; prepare equipment submittals and validate equipment selection.
• Assist Account Manager in determining proposal price, selling strategy, and developing project fulfillment schedule.

Trane in Maitland, FL is hiring for an Equipment Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be closely interacting with customers, account manager(s), other assigned project managers, technicians and suppliers to ensure timely completion of assigned estimates and project execution. Responsibilities include technical selection and pricing of equipment for each project. Must be able to provide estimating support to the equipment sales team.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for reviewing Plans & Specifications and developing cost estimates, ensuring accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. of Trane materials, sub-contractors, non-Trane purchased equipment, labor (start-up, service work, etc.), and other construction-related activities to assist Account Managers in bidding projects.
• Provides knowledge and consultation in the form of developing facility-related solutions for the customer’s problems.
• Determines project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet the entire customer’s HVAC system design and installation requirements.
• Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible solutions with Account Manager, Project Manager, Sub-contractor, Supplier, and/or customer.
• Coordinates selection, pricing, and integrates equipment, controls, and services for each project.
• Prepares, finalizes, and reviews preliminary and/or final proposal complete. Prepares equipment submittals and validates equipment selection.
• Assist Account Manager determine proposal price, selling strategy, and develop project fulfillment schedule with project team.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology or business management preferred with minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in estimating, project management, engineering, HVAC or construction management; or equivalent combination of education and industry related experience.
• Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
• Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Familiarity with the operation of HVAC Systems and/or Temperature Controls preferred.
• Flexibility to work overtime/ weekends, as required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
