Job summary

Lumin8 Transportation Technologies LLC is seeking an Estimator for our Ashland, VA office. The role will research bid specifications and estimate costs for Signal, Lighting, ITS construction and services across assigned projects.

The ideal candidate has strong Excel skills, experience with Bid/HCSS software, and excellent analytical and communication abilities, with a preference for a Bachelor's in accounting or business; extensive relevant experience may substitute.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred.
• Extensive signal/ITS/Lighting experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Bid/HCSS software experience preferred; Salesforce helpful; strong Excel skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Bid/Opportunity folders, including downloading project files and setting up cloud-based ShareFile project folders.
• Request material and subcontractor quotes based on customer specifications.
• Analyze and select best quotes for estimating process.
• Propose best COTS items meeting customer specs to department managers.
• Use estimating software to input cost data and generate estimate reports for area managers.
• Prepare labor, equipment and material costs from specifications.
• Prepare bid documentation and submit to agency or mail service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

Job Summary:

The Estimator will research bid specifications and estimate costs of Signal, Lighting, ITS construction and services for assigned departments and projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare Bid/Opportunity folders, including downloading project files, and setting up cloud-based ShareFile project folder(s)
• Request material and subcontractor quotes based on the customer specifications
• Analyze and select best available quotes for use in the estimating process
• Propose best Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) items, specialty products and services that meet customer specifications to department managers
• Utilize Estimating software to input cost data and generate estimate reports for use by area managers
• Prepare labor, equipment and material costs for items based on specifications
• Prepare bid documentation and submit to agency website or for standard mail service
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Heavy Bid/HCSS software experience preferred
• Salesforce Software experience helpful
• Excellent in Microsoft Office Suite particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred
• Extensive signal/ITS/Lighting experience will be considered in lieu of degree

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
