Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Estimator to perform material take-offs for residential and light commercial projects. The role requires accurate blueprint reading and the use of estimating software to prepare bids.

The candidate should have experience reading construction documents, understanding materials to bid, and collaborating with outside sales to drive project success. Growth opportunities exist within the company.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in residential and light commercial construction or 2 years in estimating.
• Understanding of home, pole building, garage, barn and deck components.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Building material sales experience.
• Working knowledge of Professional Estimating Software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

Responsabilités

• Performs material take-offs for residential and commercial designs from a variety of blueprints in a timely manner.
• Reviews construction documents and understands material to bid.
• Reviews and fixes potential inaccuracies in material lists.
• Works directly with outside sales representatives regarding all aspects of blueprints.
• Follows up with the status of take-offs and assists outside sales representatives in selling projects.

A Carter Lumber Estimator performs material take-offs on residential and light commercial buildings. Requires accurate knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the building construction industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company and customer service are necessary to this position

Requirements to be Considered for the Position:

• 2+ years experience in residential and light commercial construction or 2 years in estimating
• Understanding of home, pole building, garage, barn and deck components
• Ability to read blueprints
• Building material sales experience
• Working knowledge of Professional Estimating Software
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook

Field Support:

• Works directly with the outside sales representatives regarding all aspects of blueprints.
• Follows up with the status of take-offs and assists outside sales representatives in the selling of projects.
