Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking an experienced estimator with 5+ years of commercial construction experience to lead cost evaluations for negotiated projects. You will work closely with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to develop complete, presentation‑worthy estimates.

Responsibilities include creating detailed cost studies, supporting bid packages, and presenting cost information to clients. Strong software skills and a proactive, customer‑focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a commercial construction estimator.

  • Provide innovative solutions to complex cost, lead‑time, trade‑partner, and material issues.
  • Make reliable cost predictions across all scopes of work.
  • Prepare detailed conceptual cost estimates and conceptual cost studies from schematic or feasibility‑level documentation.
  • Develop variance summaries between estimates and value‑engineering studies as the design evolves.
  • Assemble a complete presentation‑worthy estimate package that clearly communicates project cost.
  • Collaborate with the project team to establish required staffing and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade‑specific clarifications, and comprehensive bid packages.
  • Participate in the bidding process: solicit bids, communicate with bidders, evaluate subcontractor proposals, and use bid tally sheets.
  • Make subcontractor award recommendations, negotiate, and finalize subcontracts with trade partners.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of cost/budget information to the customer/owner.
  • Serve as a member of the RFP response team and present formal proposals for projects.
  • Engage and develop business with new and existing customers.

DPR Construction is seeking an estimator with at least 5 years of commercial construction experience. Estimators will work primarily on negotiated commercial projects within our core markets and work closely with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.

  • Ability to identify, adapt to, and resolve complex issues.
  • Effective participation in a team environment with both internal and external teammates.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite; estimating software (WinEst, Timberline, or similar); take‑off software (On‑Screen Takeoff or similar); BIM tools (Revit, Assemble, etc.); project management software (CMiC or similar); scheduling software (Primavera or similar).
  • Strong work ethic and a “can‑do” attitude.
Benefits

Anticipated starting pay range: $115,000.00 – $150,000.00.
