Job summary

Summit Line Construction, a Quanta Services subsidiary, seeks an Estimator for the Data Center Project in Santa Teresa, NM. You will prepare accurate cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, based on plans, specs, and narratives.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure competitive bids, analyze historical data, and manage cost-to-complete estimates while upholding company standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
• Analyze RFPs, project specifications, and pricing schedules to prepare estimates.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain cost databases; prepare pre-approval estimates from drawings and narratives.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure accurate bids.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and client discussions; draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
• Manage change orders and cost-to-complete estimates on ongoing projects.

Skills

Position Overview: We are currently seeking an Estimator to join our team on the Data Center Project in Santa Teresa, NM. The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical infrastructure construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the cost associated with projects i.e. labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors and other miscellaneous costs. The Estimator ensures that all estimates are competitive and align with company standards and client expectations.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

• Scope Analysis:
• Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
• Analyze and interpret requests for proposals (RFP), project specifications, and pricing schedules.
• Cost Estimation:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Perform material, labor, and equipment take-offs and cost analyses to support estimates.
• Develop and maintain cost databases.
• Prepare pre-approval project estimates based on drawings, narratives, and general scopes of work.
• Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narratives.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, collaborations, and conferences with clients and design professionals.
• Define division of responsibilities, draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
• Work with clients on questions and clarifications post-bid submission.
• Assist project team with questions regarding construction and contractual requirements.
• Data Analysis:
• Analyze historical data and project performance to improve future estimates.
• Develop weighting criteria for proposal evaluations.
• Review estimates with the operations team and executive team.
• Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
• Manage change orders and cost-to-complete estimates of ongoing projects.
• Proposal and Bid Preparation:
• Participate in bid reviews and presentations.
• Prepare and submit proposal documents to clients.
• Provide expert judgment of costs to support competitive bid and negotiated contracts.

• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
