Abbott Construction in Silicon Valley is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to turn plans and specs into accurate budgets for commercial tenant improvements. You will work with project teams to price labor, materials, and equipment, and support bids and negotiations.

The ideal candidate has at least 7 years in PM/preconstruction, strong knowledge of estimating software (Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Timberline, Procore), and a detail-oriented approach to cost control and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must have conceptual estimating experience on midsized to large commercial tenant improvement projects.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Project Management/Preconstruction.
• Proficient in PC-based scheduling and spreadsheet applications including Timberline, Procore, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create and manage estimates effectively.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather information for pricing.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and estimating, with the ability to analyze project costs and prepare accurate estimates. This role is essential for ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule, while maintaining high standards of quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
• Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid to create and manage estimates effectively.

Experience

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is required.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, cost control measures, and project management principles.
• Familiarity with contracts and negotiation techniques is essential.
• Previous experience working on construction sites is preferred to enhance understanding of practical applications.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all estimates provided.

Qualifications

• Must have Conceptual estimating experience on midsized to large commercial building tenant improvement projects.
• Must have a 4-year degree in an accredited construction or architecture related curriculum, such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar (BA, BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc.)
• Must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in Project Management/Preconstruction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction methods, engineering principles, scheduling, estimating, contract administration, and project controls.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the areas: estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, financial reporting, client relationship, interpersonal skills, computer skills, ability to communicate, both written and oral, leadership and organizational skills.
• This position requires the application of specialized knowledge in construction management and engineering principles to coordinate and support complex commercial construction projects.
• Proficient in PC-based scheduling and spreadsheet applications. These include: Timberline, Procore, Excel, Word.

Salary

$120,000 - $220,000 based on experience
