Job summary

Robins & Morton is seeking an ERA Estimator to join our team in Raleigh. This role focuses on capturing potential divisional sales, performing takeoffs, and securing proposals with precision.

You will coordinate material orders, manage submittals, and develop relationships with internal estimating teams and external vendors to ensure accurate, timely bids. Join a Best Place to Work and Building With Purpose® team.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in related field (building science, construction management, civil engineering) or 2 years related experience.
• Field work and preconstruction estimating preferred.
• Proficient with blueprint reading and document interpretation for all design disciplines.
• Wide range of construction product knowledge.
• Proficient with estimating techniques for applicable CI divisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ordering of materials, in conformance with the project schedule.
• Prepare clear, properly formatted take-offs/quantity surveys.
• Coordinate submittals – prep, delivery, approval and resubmittal.
• Coordinate and issue bid requests to vendors and ensure adequate bid coverage.
• Develop relationships with corporate and division estimating teams and project teams.
• Visit ongoing projects to increase knowledge of construction methods.

The ERS Estimator engages with R&M regional offices and their Estimators/Project Teams to establish relationships and create fluidity and efficiency in our contributions to the overall company. This position works to best capture potential divisional sales, perform takeoffs, estimates/submittals and secure the sale and order for proposals. This position coordinates ordering, delivery, change orders and invoicing of the orders. Constant communication with the customer and follow-up is key.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

• Coordinate ordering of materials, in conformance with the project schedule
• Prepare clear, properly formatted, detailed take-offs/quantity surveys
• Coordinate ordering of materials, in conformance with the project schedule
• Handle RFI’s, as needed
• Coordinate the tracking & delivery of materials
• Ensure that all work scope items for assigned trade packages are covered in project estimates
• Secure Order from client
• Coordinate submittals – Prep, delivery, approval and resubmittal, if required
• Coordinate and issue bid request to vendors - Ensure adequate bid coverage for each trade package; make calls and follow-up
• Develop relationships with Corporate and Division Offices estimating teams and project teams
• Develop relationships with target outside organizations with this sales area of our business
• Appropriately address questions to architects/engineers for clarificationAssist with preparation and assembly of proposal letter
• Ensure smooth receipt of order by the jobsite (delivery, schedule, quantity, damage issues, etc.)
• Coordinate document and scope requirements; distribute plans, specifications and all other pertinent contract documents to vendors in order to receive properly prepared quotations.
• Fully analyze/scope vendor bids - Verify proper and complete scope of work
• Participate actively in R&M performance standards evaluations; demonstrate awareness of self-development needs; strive to achieve goals
• Participate in training opportunities (R&M Training for Excellence, other)
• Visit ongoing projects to increase knowledge of construction methods
