Job summary

Turner Industries Group in Port Allen, LA is seeking an Estimator to join our pipe fabrication team. The role focuses on coordinating proposal documents, generating material and labor take-offs from client drawings and specifications, and developing pricing for proposals.

You will work with project, sales, QA/QC, and contracts staff to finalize bids, attend kick-off meetings as needed, and help ensure safe, accurate estimates while maintaining a clean shop/yard environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating or related experience.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work in shop/yard environments with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate proposal documents, specifications, drawings and related information.
• Generate material and labor take-offs from client drawings and bills of quantity; prepare estimates.
• Compute pricing from take-offs and client data with QA/QC input.
• Coordinate with projects and sales teams until the project is awarded.
• Liaise with Contracts on bid/award documentation and deliverables.
• Attend internal and client kick-off meetings as needed for awarded projects.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Responsibilities

Turner Industries Group is looking for a Estimator to join our Estimating team at our Pipe Fabrication Facility in Port Allen, LA. This position will be responsible for:

• Coordinating proposal documents, specifications, drawings, and related information
• Generating material and labor take off based on client drawings, specifications, and/or bills of quantity
• Computing pricing based on developed take-offs and client data; develops technical and commercial responses to include in proposals in conjunction with QA/QC and contracts department
• Continuing coordination efforts with projects and/or sales groups until project is awarded;
• Acting as a liaison with Contracts department regarding relevant bid/award documentation;
• Attending "kick-off" meetings internally and with client if necessary for awarded projects;
• Performing additional assignments as required;
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Qualifications

• Preferably 2+ years of experience or equivalent combinations of experience, training, and/or education in specified skill
• Excellent analytical and technical skills required in facilitating the execution of projects based on preliminary information only
• Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills
• Must be self-directed and detail oriented
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen
• "Personal Protective Equipment" (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.) required when in shop/yard areas.
