Job summary

E&K Building Excellence in Omaha, NE seeks a cost/estimating professional responsible for project cost analysis, coordination with field operations, and customer development. This onsite role focuses on bidding, pricing, and contract administration to ensure competitive and accurate estimates across projects.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in commercial construction estimating, experience with BuzzBID/QuickBid, and strong proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience with BuzzBID or QuickBid.
• Metal framing, ceilings, and/or drywall construction experience preferred.
• Proficient with Bluebeam or similar software.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, schedules, and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction budgets, scheduling, and estimating.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Recommend short-term objectives and long-range sales/marketing goals including pricing and job selection policies.
• Bid, sell, and market E&K's services and products, including monitoring market and technical trades.
• Participate in development and implementation of marketing plans.
• Manage and coordinate current projects by documenting and interacting with other departments and clients for proper progress of jobs.
• Process contracts and change orders in a timely manner.
• Assist in determining amount of monthly progress billings.
• Ensure that the proper information is provided to other departments.
• Review contract language and note concerns for the Manager's review.
• Establish qualified subcontractor bids and scope in determining contracts.
• Conform to all company policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position will be responsible for project cost analysis, coordination with field operations, customer development, and relationship building.

This position is located in our Omaha, Nebraska, office.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience with commercial construction experience in estimating.
• Required experience with BuzzBID, QuickBid, or similar estimating software.
• Metal framing, ceilings, and/or drywall construction experience preferred.
• Solid experience with Bluebeam or similar software.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, schedules, and specifications.
• Knowledge of construction budgets, scheduling, and estimating.
• Ability to multi-task & prioritize.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills - will regularly interact verbally and in writing, with internal and external partners.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially in Outlook and Excel.
