Job summary

thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc. in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking an Estimator to join the Project team.

You will partner with Project Managers and Project Engineers to generate proposals for Parts and Services, and to read and interpret mechanical drawings. The role requires cost estimation, pricing, supplier coordination, and updating pricing documents, while ensuring safety policies and collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Quality.

Qualifications

Experience estimating costs/pricing for heavy/large equipment manufacturers.
Ability to read/interpret mechanical equipment drawings and communicate technical concepts.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
A valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Engage with Project Managers and Project Engineers to support the sales of Parts and Services.
Prepare cost estimates and written proposals for Parts and Services.
Follow up with customers after proposals are delivered.
Communicate with suppliers to request pricing and lead times for subcontracted parts and services including obtaining shipping costs.
Maintain and update standard pricing documents for use by Sales.
Engage with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality to determine price and lead time of products to be quoted.
Tracks and triggers project invoices after shipment to customers, assists with expediting of parts and proposals when required.
Ensure that Company safety policies, including all procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to at all times.

A-C Equipment Services, a division of thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc., is engaged in the design, manufacture, installation and service of rotary kilns. Our customer base includes cement manufacturers, paper mills and various other mineral and chemical processing companies located in all parts of the United States.

Your responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Estimator is responsible for working with Project Managers and Project Engineers to generate proposals to support the sales of Parts and Services. The position requires the Estimator to have a good understanding of the Procurement and Logistics functions and the ability to read and understand technical drawings. This position is based in Milwaukee, WI and requires no travel.

Your profile

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

An Associates and/or Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Engineering, Business and/or Operations.
Experience estimating costs/pricing for heavy/large equipment manufacturer
Ability to read/ interpret mechanical equipment drawings and ability to understand and communicate technical concepts is critical to the success of this position
Good verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
A valid driver's license

Additional Qualifications:

Experience in the paper, cement, mining, or mineral industries preferred
Technical background regarding rotary kiln and grinding mill parts and equipment
Ability to negotiate
Well organized and detail oriented
Able to show initiative and decisiveness
Work well within a team environment
Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience is a plus
SAP experience is a plus
