Job summary

Amentum in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Planner / Estimator I to coordinate Engineering, Production Control, Purchasing and other applicable departments to achieve optimum utilization of facilities in meeting work schedules.

The role emphasizes planning, estimating manhours, developing schedules and material requirements, and coordinating tasks across the planning stages. Strong communication, problem-solving, and scheduling skills are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, the Planner / Estimator I (PE) is responsible for proper planning and estimating of manhours on work orders received in Work Control office.
• Review each request by physically visiting the location where the work is to be performed.
• Develop detailed schedules, material requirements lists and production plans for established Work Flows.
• Responsible for all coordination of the task during the planning stages including Work Control Center, other assigned crafts, Shop Foremen, Engineering.
• Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems and maintain records such a reports on production and material deficiencies.
• Assist with the preparation of near-term work schedule. Advise Supervisor when task is ready for scheduling.
• Communicate all developments in the planning stage, special requirements and/or problems encountered.
• Responsible for coordinating all paperwork when a scope change is encountered by field personnel.
• Prepare the scope change request in a professional manner for submittal.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Compensation Details

$70,000-$76,000
