Job summary

Trueline's client, a well-established commercial flooring contractor, is seeking an Estimator to join their team. This role offers mentorship from an experienced estimator and a long-term career with a growing organization.

The Estimator will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, prepare estimates, and manage bid activities. Hybrid or fully remote flexibility is available for the right candidate, with a base salary of $80,000–$95,000 plus bonus potential.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of construction estimating experience.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience performing quantity takeoffs and developing accurate cost estimates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Review plans, specs, bid documents and project requirements.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using AutoCAD, Bluebeam or similar software.
  • Prepare detailed project estimates and written proposals.
  • Create color-coded shop drawings for installation teams.
  • Coordinate RFIs, ASIs and bid clarifications with general contractors and project teams.
  • Source and negotiate material pricing while accounting for lead times and schedules.
  • Track project specifications, value engineering opportunities and scope changes.
  • Participate in scope review and pre-bid meetings.
  • Ensure smooth handoff of awarded projects to the Project Management team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and documentation.
  • Build strong relationships with general contractors, vendors and clients throughout bidding process.

What You'll Do as the Estimator:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
