Estimator
An Estimator must be knowledgeable about general processmethodology, current materials, and outside processing cost. The Estimatorshould be aware of all intimate Recurring and Non-recurring costs for the Basisof Estimate as they are related to the proposal/quote in regard to Customerrequirements of their original request for quote (RFQ). The Estimator shouldseek out insight as necessary from other team members as the needs required inpreparation of the final quotation/proposal submission due date nears. TheEstimator must be aware of the competition, our cost and profit margins and beprepared to support Sales, Business Management, Engineering, Finance, andProduction Control in negotiations and Product Launches.

Job Summary
- Develop,analyze, evaluate, coordinate, prepare, and oversee cost proposals togovernment and commercial customers.
- Reviewand interpret the Request for Proposal (RFP) for all pricing requirementsand work with the Engineering,
- Qualityand Program Management to set up the approach and schedule required forbidding the proposal.
- Identifyand generate RFPs for all materials and outside processing to suppliers orDAS GOREM Purchasing.
- Researchhistorical data in detail and develop fully traceable summaries.
- Developfully compliant and accurate cost proposals.
- Supportchanges or modifications with the customer and participate with theContract Negotiation team.
- Establishmethod of manufacturing, detailed job instructions, estimating packagepreparation, and prepare and produce the summarization of Basis ofEstimate (BOE) reporting sheets.
- Withthe assistance from Engineering, the Estimator shall be given theIdentifying Tools required and concepts (with Engineering concurrence),including NC Tapes, Stretch Forms, Mill Fixtures, Check Fixtures, etc.
- The Estimator will compile all Non-Recurring (NRE) tooling cost summaryreports, with breakout of all costs; labor, tools, equipment, outsidesub-tier requirements and include all the cost elements in the finalquotation/proposal.
- ProvideRecurring calculation of hours summary cost (REC) using establishedtemplates that include labor hours, material, outside processing, and anyInternal Work orders (IWO) processed into a basis of estimate (BOE)report.
- Providedetail Financial Analysis against cost elements of a quote, prepare andsupport the financial "Basis of
- Estimate" summary to Management and Seniorlevel approval personnel. Ascertain the quote is considered "Fair & Reasonable"prior to submittal to Sales, Business management and/or Customer.
- Attend(as necessary/or directed) and provide support and guidance for ProductLaunch meetings.
- Adhereto all directives of "Best Practices" to assure all departmentrequirements, deadlines and obligations are met.
- Stayabreast of the latest technologies, techniques within the Aerospaceindustry by attending classes, seminars, magazine periodicals, Internetsearches etc.
- Responsiblefor the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated intheir work area.
- Performsother duties as assigned including leading projects and participation inproject committees
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Abilityto read and understand blueprints and mylars.
- Abilityto use modeling software such as Catia.
- Abilityto read and understand technical specifications.
- Knowledgeof manufacturing materials, processes, and tooling.
- Workwell in a team environment as well as individually.
- Possessexcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstratea thorough knowledge of learning curve applications, mathematicalformulas, and the ability to apply multi-curve projections.
- Knowledgeof stretch forming, machining, chemical milling, sheet metal and assemblyprocesses are a must.
- Thoroughknowledge of Microsoft Excel, as well as MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
- Workingknowledge of BAAN V, Auto-vue, Solid Works, Unigraphics, and knowledge ofmultiple ERP/MRP systems a plus.
Required Experience and Education
- MinimumHigh School diploma or equivalent
- 2-yearor 4-year degree with courses in Manufacturing and/or Engineering, or Fiveyears' experience and a proven knowledge of cost estimating, and priceanalysis skills.
- 1-5years' experience within the Aerospace or aircraft production industry
- Atleast 1 year experience in Aerospace estimating preferred
