Job summary

Lithko Contracting in Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking a Jr. Estimator to join our estimating team. The Jr.

Estimator will assist the Estimating staff and Pre-Construction Lead with all aspects of estimating, including quantity take-off, pricing and bidding of commercial and industrial construction projects. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and experience with structural concrete estimating is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with structural concrete estimating preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Must have good organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with Self-Perform General Contractor or Concrete Contractor a plus.
• Experience with Commercial/Industrial projects preferred.
• General knowledge of construction principles with projects over $1M.

Responsibilities

• Sets up an estimate to include alternates, general conditions, pricing with vendors and subs per bid strategy.
• Performs take-offs and quantifies concrete scope items for bids.
• Transfers project information to operations during turnover and planning.
• Ensures accurate information is provided for execution.

The Role

Lithko Contracting is seeking a Jr. Estimator to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Jr. Estimator will assist the Estimating staff and Pre-Construction Lead with all aspects of estimating, including quantity take-off, pricing and bidding of commercial and industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Sets up an estimate to include correct alternates, general conditions, inputting correct vendor and subcontractor pricing, correct labor production and wage rates in alignment with bid strategy.
• Conducts a take off by owning all items from take-off software through identifying and quantifying all necessary concrete scope items.
• Responsible for providing correct project information to the appropriate parties during the turnover and planning phases.
• Validates that accurate and detailed information was provided to the operations team to plan for execution.

Requirements And Qualifications

• Experience with structural concrete estimating preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Must have good organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in estimating for a Self-Perform General Contractor or Concrete Contractor is a plus.
• Experience with a variety of project types with emphasis on Commercial/Industrial preferred.
• General knowledge of construction principles/practices required with experience on projects over 1 million dollars.
• Knowledge of negotiated bids, and hard bids.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering required.
