Job summary

Prisma Austin is seeking an experienced Estimator for our Austin printing operation. The role requires developing accurate estimates for Offset, Digital, and Large Format projects and coordinating with Sales, Production, and vendors to ensure feasibility and pricing accuracy.

You will leverage an MIS/ERP system for estimate entry and job scheduling, maintaining data integrity while supporting a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates for Offset, Digital, and Large Format print projects.
• Collaborate with Sales and Production Managers to fit equipment and production capabilities.
• Communicate estimate specifications and stock availability with Sales/Account Managers.
• Contact outside vendors for pricing when needed.
• Review specifications to identify potential issues before work starts.
• Maintain estimate data within the MIS system.
• Work with Sales, Account Management, Production, and other departments to ensure accurate estimates.
• Provide internal customer service across departments.

EstimatorWe are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in the printing industry and experience working with an MIS system for estimate entry.The ideal candidate understands print production processes, is detail-oriented, and can develop accurate, efficient estimates that align with our equipment and production capabilities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOur MIS software is fully integrated from estimating through job entry, scheduling, and invoicing.Prepare accurate estimates for Offset, Digital, and Large Format print projects.Work closely with Sales and Production Managers to develop accurate and efficient estimates that fit our equipment and production capabilities.Communicate with Sales and Account Managers regarding estimate specifications, stock availability, and any issues that may affect pricing or production.Contact outside vendors as needed to obtain pricing for processes or services that cannot be completed in-house.Review project specifications and identify potential estimating or production issues before work is committed.Maintain accurate and timely estimate information within the MIS system.Work collaboratively with Sales, Account Management, Production, and other departments to ensure projects are estimated accurately and efficiently.Provide excellent internal customer service and communicate effectively across departments.Work ScheduleMonday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PMQualifications and Characteristics of a Winning CandidateSelf-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Flexible, adaptable, and maintains a positive attitude.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Team-oriented and willing to assist others when needed.Desired Skills and ExperiencePrevious estimating experience in the printing industry preferred.Print production or hands-on experience working for a commercial printing company is a plus.Solid understanding of print industry production processes.Experience working with an MIS/ERP system for estimating and job entry.Strong computer skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is a plus.EFI Pace MIS experience is a plus.Basic knowledge of printing papers, substrates, and related materials.Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Ability and willingness to learn new systems, processes, equipment, and production capabilities.CompensationPay range is dependent upon experience and qualifications.
