Alila Ventana Big Sur is seeking a thoughtful, experienced, and service-driven Esthetician to join our Spa Alila team on a part-time basis. This position is responsible for providing exceptional skincare, facial, body, and wellness-focused treatments in a luxury spa environment while creating a deeply personalized and restorative guest experience. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Big Sur, Spa Alila offers a refined wellness experience rooted in care, intention, relaxation, and connection to place. The ideal candidate has strong technical skincare knowledge, understands luxury spa service standards, and brings warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail to every guest interaction. This is a part-time position, expected to work approximately 20–25 hours per week. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional esthetic services, including facials, skincare treatments, body treatments, enhancements, and other spa services according to Spa Alila standards.
- Deliver a luxury spa experience that is personalized, attentive, calming, and aligned with the Alila brand.
- Consult with guests to understand skincare needs, preferences, sensitivities, contraindications, and desired outcomes.
- Recommend appropriate treatments, homecare products, and wellness enhancements based on guest needs.
- Maintain strong knowledge of skincare products, ingredients, protocols, techniques, and spa offerings.
- Prepare treatment rooms before each appointment, ensuring cleanliness, product readiness, ambiance, and proper setup.
- Maintain treatment room sanitation, organization, and presentation throughout the shift.
- Follow all spa protocols, safety standards, sanitation procedures, and state licensing requirements.
- Create a welcoming and restorative environment for guests before, during, and after treatments.
- Maintain accurate guest notes, treatment preferences, and service documentation as required.
- Support retail sales through thoughtful product education and personalized recommendations.
- Assist with spa cleanliness, linen management, product restocking, and treatment room readiness.
- Communicate guest needs, scheduling concerns, product needs, maintenance issues, or service opportunities to spa leadership.
- Partner with spa reception, massage therapists, wellness colleagues, housekeeping, and resort teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance and uphold luxury service standards at all times.
- Perform other spa and wellness duties as assigned.
Hourly Rate: $16.90per hour plus tips and a generous service charge. Total hourly earnings are dependent on resort occupancy and business levels.

Qualifications
- Current California Esthetician license required.
- Minimum of 3 years of esthetician experience required.
- Previous experience in a luxury spa, resort spa, destination spa, or high-end wellness environment strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of skincare, facial techniques, body treatments, product usage, sanitation, and guest consultation.
- Ability to deliver personalized, thoughtful, and polished service in a luxury hospitality setting.
- Excellent communication, guest service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion with guests.
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, timing, and treatment consistency.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the broader spa and resort team.
- Retail product knowledge and ability to make appropriate product recommendations preferred.
- Must be able to work approximately 20–25 hours per week.

Work Environment
This position is based at Spa Alila at Alila Ventana Big Sur. The role requires hands‑on treatment work in spa treatment rooms and guest‑facing wellness areas. The Esthetician will work closely with spa leadership, spa reception, wellness colleagues, resort operations, and guests in a peaceful but service‑focused luxury resort environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during treatments.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand, arm, and body movements required for esthetic services.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout treatment rooms and spa areas.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull moderate amounts of weight, including linens, products, and spa supplies.
- Ability to work around skincare products, essential oils, cleaning products, spa equipment, and potential allergens.
- Ability to maintain focus, care, and professionalism throughout multiple appointments.
