Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC seeks a Senior Trusts & Estates Paralegal (ICS) in New York, NY on-site. You will handle complex estate administration, prepare tax returns, and draft probate and fiduciary filings, supporting attorneys in estate planning matters.

You will mentor junior staff, manage client relationships with empathy, and ensure accurate filings with attention to detail. A leadership mindset and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of specialized Trusts & Estates experience (AM Law or boutique focused on T&E).
• Ability to read and interpret wills; handle elder care matters (Medicaid/Medicare).
• Advanced knowledge of estate and tax planning, probate procedures, and court systems.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and document systems.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage many clients/cases with empathy.
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities; collaborative team mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex estate administration, including marshaling assets and filing court documents.
• Prepare Federal and State estate tax returns and project estate/gift taxes for trusts.
• Draft probate petitions and related applications and release agreements.
• Manage IRS and state estate tax audits and assist with trust administration and accounting.
• Mentor junior legal assistants and collaborate with attorneys on estate/tax matters.
• Interface with clients with sensitivity, professionalism during difficult circumstances.
• Assemble documentation for fiduciary accountants and ensure filings are complete.
