Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is assisting a Lansing, MI law firm in recruiting an Estate and Succession Planning Associate to advise clients and draft Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives, with a focus on estate planning and related tax matters.

The ideal candidate will be a JD graduate from an accredited law school, admitted to the Michigan State Bar (or eligible for prompt admission), and possess excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and business development

Qualifications

Knowledge of estate planning, estate and gift tax, and business succession planning.
Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
Ability to summarize complex problems and propose solutions.
Organizational and project management skills.
Sound and independent judgment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Manage new and existing client relationships.
Involvement in business development activities.

Responsibilities

Meet with clients to understand their wishes and draft documents such as Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Directives.
Advise on estate, gift, GST tax, and income tax matters for mid to high-net-worth individuals and families.
Engage in estate administration, including preparing and filing probate documents and attending hearings.
