Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing with the applicable state bar.
- 5+ years of estate planning and/or trust and estate experience.
- Experience drafting sophisticated estate planning documents.
- Experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive estate plans based on clients’ objectives.
- Draft and review wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other documents.
- Advise clients regarding estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and income tax considerations.
- Counsel high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth preservation and transfer strategies.
- Assist business owners with succession planning and integration into broader plans.
- Analyze existing estate plans and recommend updates based on changes in family circumstances, assets, or laws.
- Advise fiduciaries, trustees, beneficiaries, and personal representatives on administration matters.
- Assist with probate, trust administration, and estate settlement as needed.
- Coordinate with accountants, financial advisors, insurance professionals, and other advisors to implement integrated strategies.
- Conduct legal research and stay current on developments in estate planning and related areas of law.
