Cordell & Cordell is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Attorney in Illinois to lead estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters. The role involves client consultations, drafting estate planning documents, and representing clients in probate proceedings across Missouri jurisdictions.

Daily in-office presence is generally required with some schedule flexibility. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of practice, a JD, and Illinois licensure, plus experience with high net-worth

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited university.
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
• 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney; experience as a trust officer may be considered.
• Experience drafting estate planning documents, probate, trust administration.
• Ability to quickly learn new technical programs and software.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial consultations with clients and manage caseload.
• Draft estate planning documents for a wide net worth variance.
• Represent clients in probate court cases in Missouri jurisdictions.
• Provide monthly status reports and weekly file reviews.

Some flexibility in schedule and daily location is available; daily in-office presence is generally required because of regular client consults and document signings.

Job Description: Yourrole of Attorney would include the following:

• Perform initial consultations with clients and perform subsequent management ofcaseload generated by same.
• Draft estate planning documents for wide net worth variance of clients.
• Represent clients in cases filed in probate court in various Missourijurisdictions.
• Provide superior representation to all clients including monthly status reports andweekly reviews of files.

Required Experience:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited university
• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
• 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney; experience as a trust officer may be considered.
• Experience drafting estate planning documents, probate, trust administration.
• Ability to quickly learn new technical programs and software.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with trust and probate litigation
• Experience representing clients for guardianship and conservatorship applications.
• Experience planning for high or ultra-high net worth clients and general taxation experience / knowledge
• Experience with Medicaid asset planningAdditional license in MO and existing book of business is a plus.
