Job summary

Shelter House is seeking a Maintenance & Custodial Technician for the Fair Ridge Family Shelter in Fairfax County. The role focuses on cleaning, basic maintenance, coordinating contractors, and maintaining a maintenance log to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and willingness to work evenings/weekends. Prior custodial experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the shelter.
• Escort contractors and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Keep a log of maintenance requests and completed work.
• Manage custodial supplies and safe storage of chemicals.
• Support with events and room setups as needed.
• Respond to staffing shortages or emergencies to maintain operations.
