Salem-Keizer Public Schools is seeking a Special Programs Instructional Assistant - ESSA to support licensed teachers by helping plan and implement educational programs, including individualized education plans (IEPs). The position may involve both general and special education settings.

The role is classified as a temporary, full-time position with 7.5 hours per day and 188 work days per year. ESSA documentation is required, and interviews will be conducted as part of the hiring process.

To improve student achievement by assisting a licensed teacher in the planning and implementation of an educational program, including individualized education programs (IEPs). Assigned educational programs may include both general and special education settings.

What is ESSA?

The federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) works to support equal opportunity for disadvantaged students and eliminate barriers to student success. ESSA requires all paraprofessionals working in a Title I funded school to meet certain proficiency in reading, writing and math.
