Job summary

Siloam Springs School District in Arkansas is seeking an ESOL Paraprofessional for the middle school to support English learners both one-on-one and in small groups.

You will work with the ESOL Team and classroom teachers to provide language acquisition support, modify materials for ELL students, and ensure confidentiality while assisting with instructional tasks and data collection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of college credit or an associate's degree (or higher) preferred.
• Evidence of Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment acceptable for qualification.

Responsibilities

• Be an integral part of the ESOL Team and collaborate with classroom content teachers
• Provide English language acquisition and academic assistance to students, one-on-one or in small groups
• Support the preparation of instructional materials that reflect appropriate ELL modifications and accommodations
• Re-word and/or clarify lesson content in a comprehensible manner given a student's level of English proficiency
• Maintain confidentiality
• Support supervision of and monitor students throughout the school day
• Provide clerical support for program and administration
• Collect student data and share information with appropriate staff

Job Title: ESOL Paraprofessional - Middle School

Reports to: Building Principal

Department: ESOL Department

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• At least one (1) of the following:
  • Two (2) years of college credit
  • An associate's degree (or higher)
  • Provide evidence of passing the Arkansas State Board of Education adopted Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
• Possess basic knowledge of technology and keyboarding to support student learning
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate patience, initiative, and willingness to learn
• Eagerness to work with children of all abilities, languages, and cultural backgrounds

Terms of employment:

185 day contract with benefits according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.
