An established educational institution is seeking a dedicated part-time instructor to lead ESOL and English language classes. The part-time instructor will provide instructional activities which are consistent with the objectives of the Aspire and/or Workforce Programs and Clark State College. This includes teaching up to two ESOL/English language classes, typically scheduled M-Th from 9a-12p, or 1p-4p. The part-time instructor will provide detailed and documented lesson plans for review on a bi-weekly basis in accordance with the State of Ohio’s educational standards and enter attendance weekly into the State system. The instructor will meet with their designated course coordinator weekly and/or as needed for support, and to ensure educational objectives are being met. The Aspire team will meet as a whole on a monthly basis to review, discuss, and identify any potential issues as well provide/ gain feedback that will help strengthen the Aspire program.

• Maintaining positive relationships with colleagues.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Education or Adult Education; however, degrees in other fields will be considered with relevant experience.
• Teaching Experience required.
• Adult education teaching experience preferred; training is provided.
• ESOL teaching experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, faculty, and students.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
The work is performed in an office-like environment with a minimal amount of noise.
