Job summary

Stamford Public Schools seeks a long-term substitute teacher for English Learners for the 2026-2027 school year. Compensation is $175.00 per day (uncertified) or $200.00 per day (certified).

The substitute will continue learning activities and maintain a positive classroom climate in the absence of the regular teacher. CT certification is preferred; candidates not certified but holding a Bachelor's degree with 12 content credits may pursue LT Substitute Authorization.

Qualifications

• CT certification preferred; able to teach English Learners.
• If not CT certified, hold a Bachelor's degree and 12 credits in the content area to be taught; LT Substitute Authorization may be pursued.
• Experience or familiarity with Sheltered Instruction or multilingual learners is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Replace the regular teacher on daily or long-term basis and continue learning activities.
• Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning climate.
• Communicate progress and issues to the regular teacher and students.
