Job summary

Kean University in Union, New Jersey seeks an ESL Adjunct Faculty member to teach English as a Second Language courses at various proficiency levels. Classes will be scheduled daytime and evening hours on the Union campus, with some online components as applicable.

Adjuncts hold a master’s degree in a related field, have teaching experience, and participate in a state retirement plan. Salary is per credit, with adjustments after 13 semesters taught.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field and teaching experience required unless indicated otherwise.
• Candidates with ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D. encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in a Learning Management System (LMS) required.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL courses focusing on reading, conversation, grammar and writing from novice to upper-intermediate levels.
• Courses scheduled daytime and evening hours in-person at the Union campus.
• Adjunct positions are non-tenure track and paid per credit; provide office hours outside class as required.
