Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements, maintains ESH procedures and plans designed for ensuring compliance with contract requirements governing regulatory authorities and company policies in a general industry setting.
  • Acts as primary point of contact for all safety and risk related issues, to include conducting all safety training for 70 employees plus.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures through inspections, training, and evaluations while keeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. identifying unsafe conditions, exposure to chemicals, and the proper use of PPE.
  • Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and established corrective action for issues and complaints relating to safety and risk. Also providing oversight for all contractors & subcontractors regarding safety compliance & consultation.
  • Establishes and maintains a strong safety culture and continuous focus at all levels of the organization through education, awareness, recognition, etc. Conduct safety huddles for company employees as well as contractors prior to start of a project or job evolutions.
  • Leads proper execution of key safety processes, including incident investigations, near miss reports, training, record keeping, trend analysis, New Hire orientation, After Action Reviews/Reports, job hazard analysis, etc.
  • Leads preparation and participation in compliance audits, ensures ongoing compliance with processes, policies, record keeping, reporting, etc.
  • Effectively and activity utilizes online safety records management database to manage incidents, near miss and training records as required for all site metrics
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Level of Experience Requirements: 15 - 20 years’ experience in Safety/ Safety Management
  • OSHA 501 General Industry Trainer with UCSD

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
