Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate covering appropriate area of responsibility.
• Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws relating to student/employee privacy.

Responsibilities

• Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study that meets students’ needs and abilities.
• Assist in establishing curriculum objectives and development of plan for implementation and evaluation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and aligned with objectives.
• Communicate objectives to students and use appropriate instructional methods and materials.
• Assess student progress and provide reports as required.
• Diagnose learning strengths/weaknesses and involve District specialists when needed.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and/or parents regularly.
• Enforce policies governing student life and classroom conduct.
