Job summary

Terracon seeks an Assistant Scientist for our Lenexa, MO office in the Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) Department. The role focuses on preparing Phase I ESA reports, conducting site visits, and field work, with opportunities to support Phase II ESA and other environmental projects.

The successful candidate will apply critical thinking, report writing, and problem-solving skills while engaging with clients, partners, and team members to deliver high-quality environmental service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
• 0-3 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of Phase I ESA processes and report writing.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Phase I ESAs, including site reconnaissance, records review, and report preparation.
• Collaborate with team to complete Phase I ESA reports and meet client schedules.
• Coordinate projects and liaise between clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Follow safety policies and participate in pre-task planning meetings.
• Provide environmental expertise and recommendations to clients.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations.
• Present project findings to clients in a clear, professional manner.
• Participate in client meetings and project discussions.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality deliverables.
