Job summary

Sierra Experts is seeking a Software Developer to design, write, and support custom applications and ERPs for manufacturing, healthcare, and other critical-systems customers. You will work with the Microsoft stack (C# / .NET, SQL Server) in Visual Studio and collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to deliver production-ready software.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, modernization of legacy platforms, and integration of systems via APIs and data exchanges.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher in CS/Software Eng or related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software development experience; 5+ preferred.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio and C# / .NET (Framework and/or .NET Core / .NET 6+).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (design, queries, stored procedures, performance).
• Experience with ASP.NET (Web Forms, MVC, and/or ASP.NET Core) and web tech (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with REST APIs / web services and data formats (JSON, XML).
• Familiarity with Windows development/administration; PowerShell is a plus.
• Ability to own problems end-to-end and communicate with stakeholders.
• U.S. citizenship required; on-site in Pittsburgh/Robinson Township.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom business applications and ERP solutions.
• Build and extend features across desktop, web, services, and database stacks.
• Clarify requirements with customers and deliver production-ready software.
• Write and optimize T-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server.
• Integrate systems via APIs, file/data exchange, and interfaces.
• Support and evolve Sierra-built apps; debug across app, data, Windows environments.
• Participate in modernization of legacy platforms into Sierra ERPs.
• Follow source control and change control for auditable releases.
• Contribute to testing and document designs, code, and issues.
