Job description

ERP Product Manager - Consolidations, Accounting Transformation Group

Job ID: 10514433 | Amazon.com Services LLC

Amazon is seeking an experienced ERP Product Manager to own the product strategy and delivery of global consolidation and financial reporting capabilities as part of a large-scale Finance ERP transformation.

This role sits at the intersection of Accounting, Finance, Product, and technology, with responsibility for translating complex consolidation, controllership, and financial reporting needs into a clear product vision, prioritized roadmap, and scalable system capabilities.

The successful candidate will bring strong accounting and consolidation expertise, experience managing enterprise financial products, and working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting or comparable consolidation platforms.

You will serve as the product owner for consolidation and Group Reporting, partnering closely with Accounting, Controllership, Finance, Solution Architecture, Engineering, SAP, and implementation partners.

You will define business capabilities, establish product requirements, prioritize features, evaluate design alternatives, and guide the product through design, build, testing, deployment, adoption, and ongoing improvement.

This role requires an individual who can move between detailed accounting requirements and broader product decisions. You will need to understand how legal-entity structures, accounting policies, ownership relationships, currencies, intercompany activity, and reporting requirements translate into a cohesive enterprise consolidation product.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle for Amazon’s global consolidation and Group Reporting capabilities.
  • Define the future-state product capabilities required to support statutory and management consolidation, controllership, and financial reporting.
  • Work with Accounting, Controllership, and Finance stakeholders to identify customer needs and translate them into clear business requirements, product features, and acceptance criteria.
  • Drive product and design decisions across organizational structures, financial statement items, consolidation methods, intercompany eliminations, currency translation, ownership changes, equity accounting, and reporting hierarchies.
  • Partner with Solution Architecture, Engineering, SAP, and implementation partners to evaluate solution alternatives and ensure designs meet business and product objectives.
  • Establish product success measures and monitor financial accuracy, control effectiveness, user adoption, process efficiency, system performance, and customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate consolidation, close, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
  • Manage product dependencies with General Ledger, master data, intercompany, foreign currency, reporting, data platforms, and upstream and downstream financial systems.
  • Develop product narratives, strategy documents, roadmaps, decision materials, and executive updates that communicate priorities, progress, risks, trade-offs, and required decisions.
A day in the life

You will work with Accounting and technology teams to shape Amazon’s future consolidation product. A typical day may include clarifying a Group Reporting requirement, prioritizing product features, evaluating an SAP design option, or reviewing test and reconciliation results. You will partner with Accounting, Architecture, Engineering, and implementation teams to resolve product decisions and dependencies. You will also review product metrics, gather customer feedback, and communicate priorities, trade-offs, and risks to senior leaders as the product moves from strategy and design through deployment and continuous improvement.
