Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking an ERP Manager to lead implementation, upgrades, and support of enterprise business and administrative technology solutions that support the university and health system. The role collaborates with central IT leadership to deliver ERP capabilities for operations.

You will plan, manage projects, coordinate resources, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, while maintaining security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, MIS, business administration, or a related field.
  • Ten years broad experience in a senior IT/business role.
  • Equivalency may substitute for education/experience per policy.

Responsibilities

  • Provides input and formulates plans; implements plans for EBS/Sightline, IT and business owners.
  • Implements technology solutions meeting departmental needs and larger organization requirements.
  • Helps establish budgetary goals and prioritizes initiatives.
  • Participates in technology policy and practice development for security and compliance.
  • Follows project management methodologies as prescribed by leadership.
  • Represents IT leadership in IT policy/procedure meetings across the institution.
  • Manages customer relationships and adherence to SLAs; fosters excellent customer service.
  • Maintains cross-functional collaboration with leadership, business owners and end users.

Job description

Johns Hopkins, founded in 1876, is America's first researchuniversity and home to nine world-class academic divisions workingtogether as one university.

We are seeking an ERP Manager who will beresponsible for management of the implementation, upgrades,support, and exploration of new technologies for enterprisebusiness and administrative technology solutions that support themissions of the university and health system. Works with centralbusiness leaders, university and/or JHM leadership or senior ITleadership to deliver business and administrative solutions in support of organizational operations.

Participate in strategic planning and tactical execution ofenterprise technology initiatives; facilitate communicationsbetween entities within the Johns Hopkins Institutions as theyrelate to the use of technologies to support business andadministrative functions; coordinate the work of teams of IT andnon-IT professionals; and represent the university and healthsystem in constituent and industry groups. Execute projectmanagement processes and methodologies to ensure projects aredelivered on-time and within budget, adhere to high qualitystandards, and delight the customer.

Responsible for project plans, team, and work assignments,directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifyingresource needs, performing quality review, and escalatingfunctional, quality and timeline issues appropriately. Projectresources may be drawn from shared pools within and outside thecentral IT organization; coordination of resources may be requiredwith other managers. Dual responsibility for delivery management(implementation, upgrade, support) and practice management(functional, technical).

Build and maintain strong, trusted customer and vendorrelationships. Leads projects of varying complexity, which mayinclude those requiring multi-disciplinary coordination andsignificant vendor collaboration. Works with JH business owners,consultants/contractors, users in identification, evaluation,review and where applicable, modification of current businessprocesses as required for optimal system implementation.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Planning & Controlling
  • Provides input and recommendations to and/or formulates plans.Takes direction from leadership to implement those plans for thesuccess of the EBS/Sightline, IT and/or business owner.
  • With an awareness of organization’s needs as well as the largertechnology landscape of the institution implements technologysolutions that meet departmental/organizational needs.
  • Helps establish budgetary goals and provides input towardspriorities.
  • Participates in the establishment of technology policies andpractices and implements them to ensure security and regulatorycompliance.
  • Follows project management methodologies as prescribed bydepartmental leadership.
Relationship Management
  • Represents organizational IT, academic or administrativeleadership, in meetings related to IT policies and proceduresacross the institution.
  • Manages the customer relationship and satisfaction as well asadherence to service level agreements.
  • Creates and promotes a culture of excellent customerservice.
  • Maintains relationships with leadership, business owners andend users to better understand their needs and addressorganizational goals.
  • Establishes and maintains ties with colleagues throughout theinstitution to ensure optimal collaboration and coordination ofeffort.
  • Maintains relationships with technology vendors for thedepartment and/or JH business owners.
Project/Product Responsibility
  • Within functional scope has direct responsibility for thedesign, development, and application of technical solutions thatsatisfy customer needs and are essential to the ongoing operationsof the JH business owner or IT function.
  • Is responsible for multiple IT projects that impact thebusiness owner or IT function, including requirements gathering,planning, delegation of component tasks to team members andmonitoring progress toward completion.
  • Ensure that business solutions are implemented in accordancewith business objectives and meet or exceed expectations.
Staff Management
  • Recruits, develops, retains, organizes, trains, mentors andmanages performance of staff.
  • Assigns tasks, monitors progress and provides guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, MIS, businessadministration, or a related field.
  • Ten years broad experience in a senior level position with acombination in IT and business best practices.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience,and additional related experience may substitute for requirededucation beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, tothe extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing technical orfunctional teams, including oversight of staff, workloadprioritization, performance management, and cross-functionalcollaboration.
  • Proven experience with the technical configuration,administration, and maintenance of core Human Resourcesorganizational structures, including positions, departments,reporting relationships, and employee master data.
  • Strong background managing employee data lifecycle processes,ensuring data integrity, governance, and compliance acrossenterprise HR systems.
  • Experience leading or supporting technical projects involvingenterprise systems implementations, upgrades, integrations, oroptimizations.
  • Demonstrated success delivering technology solutions withincomplex healthcare organizations, academic medical centers, healthsystems, or higher education institutions.
  • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, IT teams,and external vendors to implement and maintain enterprise platformssupporting HR, workforce management, or administrativeoperations.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data management practices, systemconfiguration standards, and process improvement methodologies inlarge, multi-faceted organizations.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technicalsolutions and lead projects from planning through deployment andoperational support.

This may includedocumentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicellavaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratorytesting. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases areordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam exceptforthose employees who provide results of blood tests or immunizationdocumentation from their own health care providers. Anyvaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no costin our Occupational Health office.
