ERP Assessment/Implementation Project Manager - Public Sector

They support private and public sector organizations in transforming and optimizing their operational environments through research, benchmarking, consulting, and managed services, with a focus on information technology, business process transformation, program management services, and ERP.

We seek individuals experienced in City or State-wide ERP assessments and implementations to assist with project goals, objectives, management guidelines, standards, scope, risk mitigation, quality, budget, reporting, and documentation.

The Project Manager (PM) will ensure effective utilization of client staff and contracted resources, review and approve project deliverables, and oversee project work plans, tasks, vendor activities, timelines, risks, and overall reporting on project status, milestones, and deliverables.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing project delivery at departmental and organizational levels
  • Monitoring resource allocation and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Developing and maintaining project documentation
  • Managing software selection and implementation services
  • Ensuring completion and approval of project management documents
  • Storing and archiving deliverables appropriately
  • Drafting, reviewing, and approving project deliverables
  • Ensuring timely, within scope and budget, quality project delivery
  • Mitigating, resolving issues, risks, and conflicts
  • Managing change requests and facilitating their approval
  • Monitoring project risks and opportunities
  • Facilitating issue resolution with client project managers
  • Escalating unresolved issues to senior management
  • Reporting progress, budget, and status to stakeholders and recommending corrective actions
  • Monitoring schedules and documenting project concerns
  • Securing resources and advocating for project needs at senior levels

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years managing large, complex ERP projects
  • Experience in public sector procurement and RFP processes
  • Expertise in business and IT subject areas
  • Cost-benefit analysis experience for IT purchases
  • Procurement policies and contract negotiation skills
  • Managing large IT budgets
  • Public sector experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high attention to detail
  • Analytical skills and effective team collaboration
  • Decision-making and escalation skills
  • Experience in Financial Management, Purchasing, or HR/Payroll

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in arts, science, or related technical/scientific field; advanced degrees like MBA desirable
  • PMP certification preferred
