The ERM Analyst supports the continued growth and maturity of Symetra's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program. Working closely with ERM team members and business partners across the organization, this role helps identify, assess, monitor, and communicate risks that could impact the Company's strategic objectives.
This position provides an opportunity to develop a broad understanding of Symetra's business, governance framework, and risk profile while building relationships across multiple business areas. The ERM Analyst contributes to key ERM processes, supports ongoing program improvements, and helps ensure risk information is meaningful, timely, and actionable for decision makers.

4 year college degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, or Actuarial Science
1-3 years of relevant professional experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, Data Analytics, or a related business discipline. Relevant internship experience will also be considered.
Works under general guidance while exercising sound judgment within established procedures. Contributes to departmental objectives through accurate analysis, thoughtful recommendations, and reliable execution of core ERM processes.
Performs professional-level analytical work involving multiple business functions and risk disciplines. Applies established ERM methodologies to support risk identification, assessment, reporting, and governance activities while developing broader knowledge of ERM concepts.
Developing knowledge of ERM principles, governance practices, and the insurance industry. Builds technical and business expertise through participation in cross-functional initiatives and continuous learning. Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the effectiveness of the ERM program.
Works under general supervision while progressively assuming greater responsibility and independence as experience develops.
Works closely with ERM team members, business unit risk owners, and subject matter experts throughout the organization. Regularly collaborates across departments to gather information, support risk assessments, and prepare materials for management and governance committees. May work directly with auditors, insurance brokers, and vendors.
