Job summary

Ergon, Inc. in Martinsburg, West Virginia, is seeking a Terminal Operator 1 to support our terminal operations.

This entry-level, safety-sensitive role involves receiving and hooking up rail cars, connecting unloading hoses, and recording measurements while complying with DOT/OSHA requirements. You will work both independently and as part of a team, maintain clean records, and assist with equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) may be required where applicable.

Responsibilities

Overview:

A Terminal Operator 1 is an entry level, safety-sensitive operations position focused on the general functions of the terminal.

Company Interfaces:

• Reports to Terminal Manager
• The position will also interface with all employees within the terminal, as well as customers, vendors and employees from other parts of the company.

General Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all Safety requirements and procedures.
• Able to work independently (self-driven), as well as a Team Player.
• Maintain customer, supplier and Company confidentiality.
• Maintain regular hours by being present, on-time and producing professional, error-free work.
• Receive and hook up rail cars.
• Connect steam and unloading hoses.
• Collect and record tank temperatures and measurements. Record information appropriately.
• Have a working knowledge of and successfully operate Order Weigh system.
• Perform routine yard maintenance.
• Assist with maintenance of equipment.
• Pull product samples upon request.
• Adhere to all (DOT) and (OSHA) requirements.
• Maintain excellent attendance and timeliness.
• Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Other duties as required by Terminal Manager.

General Qualifications:

• Basic computer skills and PC knowledge.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card (where applicable).

Physical Requirements:

• Be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time on concrete floors and outside surfaces.
• Able to work outside in varying weather conditions, varying cold, hot & humid temperatures.
• Manual dexterity; ability to reach; able to bend and move with agility.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
