Job summary

Ergon, Inc. seeks a dedicated Facility Operator at our Ennis, TX site to help manage daily production and transport of asphalt binder. You will work outdoors in a tank farm, perform QC-related tasks, and coordinate with drivers and customers to ensure timely delivery.

The role emphasizes reliability, basic math and Excel use, and the ability to follow written instructions; standard training and safety PPE are provided. Shift opportunities and OT may apply seasonally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Excel (preferred).
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Valid US driver's license.
• Ability to work days, some weekends; daylight/1st shift hours; OT depending on season.
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with QC testing in the lab.
• Input quality specifications and batch data into reports.
• Sample product quality.
• Load and unload trucks and railcars.
• Conduct minor maintenance on plant equipment (pumps, racks, mixers).
• Attend daily production/quality/EHS meetings.
• Utilize safety checklists and proactive tools.
• Maintain facility housekeeping and stay current on training.
• Wear provided PPE and communicate with operators, management, trucking, and customers.

Seeking Facility Operator at our Ennis, TX location

The Facility Operator works with a tight-knit team to manage the daily production and transport of high quality asphalt binder.

Our position is for a full-time Facility Operator at our Ennis, TX facility. Facility Operators produce neat and polymer-modified asphalt oil for sale to paving and repair customers. The position works in the outdoor tank farm with other operators to produce, process, ensure quality, and load/unload materials directly to our customers.The ideal Facility Operator possesses organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Job Duties:

• Assist with QC testing in the lab

• Attend and participate in daily production/quality/EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) meetings
• Utilize our proactive tools (safety checklist, etc.)
• Ensure good facility housekeeping
• Stay current on required training
• Wear the appropriate provided PPE (hard hat, face shield, long-sleeve shirt, H2S monitor, steel toe boots, safety glasses)
• Effectively communicate between fellow operators, management, our trucking company and customers to meet needs

Qualifications/Requirements:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency in Excel (preferred)
• Ability to work independently or with little supervision
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Basic math skills (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Ability to learn basic computer skills
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the role including: standing, walking for long periods, lift 50 pounds with assistance, and perform jobs that involve lifting, squatting, bending, and climbing tanks and/or other structures
• Valid US driver's license
• Able to work days and hours as scheduled, Monday through Friday; some weekends. Daylight/1st shift hours, OT available. Shifts may be 8 - 12 hours depending upon the season.
• Outdoor work in all seasons and potentially adverse weather conditions
