Job summary

Virginia Veterinary Specialty & Emergency in Charlottesville is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Overnight ER Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT). You will work in an exciting, fast-paced environment dedicated to emergency medicine.

As an LVT, you’ll assist in critical procedures, provide advanced care, and educate clients. The role includes weekends from 7 PM to 7 AM, with opportunities for professional growth and training, all while working with a dedicated team of specialists.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in emergency veterinary medicine preferred.
• Calm and compassionate under pressure.
• Physically able to lift 40+ lbs (with assistance) and remain on feet for extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced veterinary nursing including restraint and postoperative care.
• Assist veterinarians in emergency procedures and surgical prep.
• Provide emergency care such as CPR and fluid therapy.
• Conduct diagnostic and lab testing.
• Triage patients and accurately document condition and treatment.
• Educate clients on care, treatments, and follow‑up needs.
