The position requires graduation from an approved nursing program, NM RN licensure, at least 2 years in the ER trauma specialty, and current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of New Mexico.
• At least 2 years of recent, relevant experience in the department specialty.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the professional and other staff members assigned to the department and promotes harmonious relationships among nursing staff, medical staff, and ancillary departments.
• Provides for the delivery of care to a specific group of patients and evaluates the quality of that care to improve outcomes.
• Delivers care within the hospital’s philosophy and budget in concert with other departments and services.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
