Job summary

MercyOne is seeking an ER Tech to support the Emergency Department with direct patient care, phlebotomy, and EKGs. This role covers night shifts on a 12-hour schedule and involves clerical duties to coordinate communications within the unit.

You will assist triage, stock rooms, transport patients, and aid RNs with EMS arrivals while ensuring patient safety and comfort. A high school diploma and BLS are required or obtainable soon after hire.

Qualifications

• Requires healthcare exposure or experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 6 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist triage nursing by taking vitals and helping with patient flow.
• Stock and organize supplies on the assigned unit.
• Assist RN with EMS arrivals and transport patients within the hospital.
• Clean rooms, handle linens and disposable items between patients.
• Provide patient support: personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort.
• Rounding hourly to meet patient needs and communicate with the RN.
• Collect and label specimens as required (urine, venous blood).
