Yale New Haven Health Services Corp. is hiring an Emergency Department Tech to assist with patient care across ages under supervision of a nurse or physician.

Responsibilities include maintaining stocked rooms, supporting trauma response, performing glucose checks, CPR, phlebotomy, suturing assistance, and patient transport. The role emphasizes accurate charting, collaboration with physicians and nurses, and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• EMT-B certification with 2 years' experience or 1 year ED Tech experience preferred; or
• One year of clinical completed and currently enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing; or
• Two years recent Government Corpsmen experience; or
• 1 year ED Tech experience.

Responsabilités

• Performs various functions as a member of the Trauma Response Teams including setting up Pleurovacs, IVs, monitoring patients, sterilization procedures, and supply management.
• Performs VS and neuro checks and documents them.
• Documents care provided on charts in Fast Track and other patient interactions.
• Assists emergency physician by obtaining materials for suturing, dressings, and basic splinting.
• Stocks unit supplies and reports defective equipment on each shift.
• Transports patients to Med/Surg, OB or Telemetry units as needed.
• Under guidance of RN/PA/MD performs routine suture removal.
• Gives crutch walking instructions and responds to patient call bells.
• Performs glucose checks after competency requirements.
• Performs CPR/Chest Compressions and Phlebotomy when directed.
• Performs EKGs as requested after competency requirements.
• Meets performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and development.
• Performs other duties to ensure smooth operation of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

High School Diploma Or Equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

1 of 4 are required below:

1) EMT-B certification with 2 years' experience or 1 year ED Tech experience preferred; or

2) One year of clinical completed and currently enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing; or

3) Two years recent Government Corpsmen experience; or

4) 1 year ED Tech experience
