Job summary

MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is seeking an Emergency Services Technician to support patient care and clinical procedures in a fast-paced environment. You will work with a team to ensure high-quality outcomes and positive patient experiences.

The role requires a CNA/NA-R/EMT background with BLS, a High School diploma, and willingness to obtain MA-P where required. The position is 0.9 FTE with Day shifts and 12-hour rotations including alternating weekends.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Current Washington state CNA/NA-R/MA-P/MA-C or EMT certification, with MA-P timing as per location.
  • BLS Certification is required; prior ED/acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing direct patient care as directed by health care practitioner.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic and aesthetic environment using nursing knowledge.
  • Deliver nursing care using the nursing process per hospital policies and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve quality of care, patient experience, and reduce costs.
  • Foster a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff and health care team.
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care respecting diverse patient backgrounds.

Position Summary

The Emergency Services Technician offers an excellent opportunity in supporting patient care and covering administrative and clinical procedures. Working in collaboration across a team of practitioners, you will ensure the best possible health care outcomes and patient experiences.

Responsibilities
  • You will assist in providing direct patient care as directed by health care practitioner
  • You will engage your critical thinking skills in maintaining a safe, therapeutic and aesthetic environment.
  • You will utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Collaborate with the team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction
  • Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Washington state certification/licensure as a CNA or NA-R, MA-P, MA-C or successful completion of EMT Training Course MA-P or EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within 180 days of hire
  • CNA, NA-R, or EMT will be required to obtain MA-P within a specified date as determined by location; Mary Bridge Hospital and Yakima locations does not require the MA-P
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Previous experience as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, or EMT, in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting within the last three (3) years preferred

Founded in 1896, MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the greater Spokane region. Deaconess is home to a Level III Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, Maternal Fetal Medicine program and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It is the only hospital in the area with national accreditation in bariatric surgery. Deaconess provides high-quality inpatient, outpatient, surgical, diagnostic and emergency services.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off.

As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.77 - $32.58 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
