Job summary

Logan Regional Medical Center in southern West Virginia seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. The role provides direct and indirect patient care in a high-acuity setting, utilizing the nursing process to ensure safe, effective care across the lifespan.

Qualifications

• Education requirements include an ADN; BSN preferred; diploma programs accepted.
• Licenses/certifications required include RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, NIH Stroke Scale; TNCC preferred or required; ASLS.
• Experience: prior emergency nursing in acute care; ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Performs triage and prioritizes patient care by acuity.
• Administers medications, performs procedures, and manages critical drips.
• Assists physicians with exams and procedures in the ED.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets cardiac rhythms.
• Documents care, treatment, and education accurately.
• Applies infection control and sterile technique practices.
• Educates patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions.
• Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team for optimal care.
• Responds calmly in high-stress, life-threatening situations.
