Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking an Registered Nurse (RN) to provide a restorative healing experience in partnership with the Clinical Manager and interdisciplinary team. The RN will exercise autonomy, authority, and control to ensure excellent patient outcomes and participate in quality improvement and safe care practices.

The role requires NY State RN license or permittee; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required, with additional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed in New York State, or permittee.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS Certifications required; TNCC, ENPC and CEN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year Med/Surg experience; 2 years in critical care or ED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform holistic nursing assessment and develop an individualized care plan.
• Coordinate care with patient, families, and health care team to meet needs and discharge goals.
• Provide ongoing teaching to patient and support systems.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team; advocate for patient rights.
• Perform treatments and procedures per evidence-based policies.
• Document patient information accurately and timely using nursing process.
• Administer medications and monitor patient response; educate patient on safe use of medications.
• Participate in Quality Performance and Improvement to improve outcomes and culture of patient safety.
• Delegate tasks to LPNs, CNAs and other staff according to scope and competences.
• Demonstrate unit-specific competencies.
