Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, NE seeks an ER Nurse to be the first touchpoint during emergencies. You will triage and stabilize patients across ages, prioritizing based on medical necessity, while upholding dignity and teamwork.

This role offers a sign-on bonus up to $6,000 and educational assistance up to $10,000 for eligible new hires, with a supportive ER team focused on high-quality, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current RN license to practice in our state.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association.
• NIHSS required within 3 months of hire.
• ACLS required within 5 months of hire.
• PALS required within 5 months of hire.
• NRP required within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC required within 12 months of hire.
• ENPC required within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Use emergency triage protocol to intake, discharge or admit patients.
• Deliver stabilizing care to emergency patients of all ages as part of the ER team.
• Document the nursing care plan and changes in the patient's condition.
• Engage in patient experience initiatives, mentoring, and related activities to improve outcomes.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our ER Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, you’ll be the first touchpoint to the people in our community during health emergencies.

Everyday, you will be a multitasker who can react quickly as you prioritize patients based on their medical necessity while providing emergency triage to others.

• Use emergency triage protocol to intake, discharge or admit patients.
• Deliver stabilizing care to emergency patients of all ages as part of the larger ER team, adapting care to changes in patient’s condition as needed.
• Use knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs. Document the nursing care plan and changes in the patient's condition.
• Engage in other activities that will benefit patient outcomes, such as patient experience initiatives, mentoring, etc

We are offering up to $6,000 sign-on bonus and up to $10,000 educational assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Required

• Graduate of a nursing program
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) required within 3 months of hire
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required within 5 months of hire
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 5 months of hire
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required within 6 months of hire
• TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) required within 12 months of hire
• ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 18 months of hire

The Emergency Room is a Level III Trauma Center that treat minor injuries to complex trauma cases and the care team has the skills and expertise to help in any situation. We are designated as a Primary Stroke Center, a Pediatric Ready Hospital, and have the experts you know and trust.
