Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (Relief) to support our emergency and critical care team in Westville, Indiana. This role is designed for veterinary professionals who bring a strong clinical foundation, sound judgment, and the confidence to handle complex cases in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll do includes triage, assisting veterinarians with surgery and anesthesia, monitoring anesthetized and critical care patients, IV

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of veterinary technician or assistant experience.
• Confidence assisting with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring.
• Strong triage and patient assessment skills.
• Ability to handle challenging cases independently within training scope.
• Calm under pressure with effective communication in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Flexibility to work relief shifts, including days, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient triage and communicate concerns promptly.
• Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, anesthesia and emergencies.
• Monitor anesthetized, hospitalized and critical care patients.
• Place and maintain IV catheters and administer medications and fluids.
• Perform venipuncture and collect diagnostic samples.
• Conduct in-house lab tests and obtain radiographs.
• Calculate medication dosages and fluid rates accurately.
• Maintain accurate medical records and document treatments.
• Support CPR and other life-saving procedures when necessary.
• Communicate professionally with clients during stressful situations.
• Maintain treatment areas and collaborate with team for high-quality care.
