Job summary

Dolly Parton Children's Hospital in Knoxville, TN is seeking an ER Registration Rep PRN with flexible shifts. The role requires accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and pre-certifications.

You will interview guardians, pre-register patients, and maintain confidentiality in a fast-paced environment. The position reports to the ER/Outpatient Clinic Coordinator and emphasizes customer service, accuracy, and smooth admission workflows.

Qualifications

• Typing speed must be at least 45 WPM.
• Good communication, organization, task planning and the ability to use a computer and various office machines are needed.
• Must be able to meet the active demands of alternately sitting, standing, walking and moderate to heavy telephone duties.

Responsibilities

• Manage the registration process to meet the organization’s expectations.
• Answer telephone and take reservations, assigning patients to rooms and pre-registering patients.
• Interview/legal guardian to obtain necessary information, verify insurance, and obtain precertifications/authorizations.
• Scan papers to complete the registration as policy requires.
• Serve as CBISA reporter, complete monthly reports, and ensure fiscal year entries are finished by Aug 1.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and greet families professionally; ensure correct armband and DOB.
