Job summary

The Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. You provide direct patient care within your scope of practice and guide patient and family teaching while maintaining professional standards.

You will communicate changes in patient condition to the physician, respond quickly and accurately to emergencies, and ensure EMTALA compliance, patient privacy and confidentiality while coordinating

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS upon hire or within required timeframes.
• TNCC required within 9 months of hire; NIHSS within 30 days.
• 1 year ER/acute care experience preferred; CEN and BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in the ED.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nurses.
• Communicate patient condition changes to the physician promptly.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality; follow EMTALA regulations.
