Job summary

Cape Fox Eagle Health seeks a Board Certified Emergency Room Physician (ABEM) to provide services at MEDDAC Fort Stewart, Georgia. The role requires an MD/DO from a US-accredited school, completed EM residency, active DEA, and current licensure.

Shifts run 07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00 with choices across days, four days per week and mandatory 12-hour breaks between shifts. Experience: at least 1 year in Emergency Medicine within the past two years; BLS/ACLS/ATLS and PALS are required.

Qualifications

• MD/DO graduate from US-accredited medical school.
• Completed Emergency Medicine residency in the US; diploma awarded.
• Active DEA registration.
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS through AHA or Red Cross; maintain PALS.

Responsibilities

• Examines, diagnoses, stabilizes, and treats ED patients including urgent and emergent conditions.
• Reviews case histories and medical records prior to shift completion; documents in hard copy and EMR.
• Determines testing needs and interprets results to guide treatment.
• Prescribes procedures and oversees emergency medical care and supervision of midlevel providers.
• Coordinates with other specialists and provides guidance to residents and clinical rotators.
• Documents and performs emergency procedures (ET intubation, lumbar puncture, central lines, FAST, chest tubes).
• Notifies reassignment 3 days prior; may work at other locations as needed.
• Maintains continuing education and training requirements.

Cape Fox Eagle Health is accepting resumes for a Board Certified Emergency Room Physician (ABEM) to provide services at MEDDAC Fort Stewart, Georgia.

The hourly rate for this position has been established at: $300.00. This rate represents the company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the past two years, working as an Emergency Medicine Physician.

Schedule: The shifts are 0700-1900 or 1900-0700, and the schedule has both shifts available each day. Physician can pick the dates and shifts they want to work. They can only work 4 days in a week and there must be 12 hours’ break in between one shift and the next.

Responsibilities

• Examines, diagnoses, stabilizes, and treats, patients presenting to the Emergency Department to include urgent and emergent conditions. Respond to codes, perform life saving measures and participate in mass casualty events.
• Prepares and reviews case histories and clinical records. Medical records must be completed prior to the completion of the contract provider’s shift. This includes both hard copy and electronic medical record documents.
• Examines patients and determines requirements for clinical laboratory, radiologic, and other testing.
• Interprets test results and evaluates examination findings. Prescribes treatment, including procedures as deemed necessary.
• Manages emergency services. Formulates plans and procedures for emergency services. Responsible for medical supervision of midlevel providers.
• Coordinates emergency services with other medical activities. Uses consultants in other specialties as appropriate.
• Provides consultative advice to mid-level providers, clinical rotators and residents in methods and procedures for diagnosis and treatment of emergency conditions.
• Performs and documents appropriately emergency procedures required to treat emergency conditions to include but not limited to endotracheal intubation, lumbar puncture, central line placement, ultrasound procedures, incision and drainage, suturing of wounds, FAST exams, and chest tube placement.
• Physician will receive notification 3 days prior to the reassignment to another location. Performance of services under this contract may rarely be required in alternate locations on and off the installation to include but not limited to Winn Army Community Hospital, Hawks Soldier Medical Home, Tuttle Army Health Clinic, North Soldier Medical Home and Richmond Hill Medical Home
• Maintains continuing education and training requirements not on paid government time.

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) - Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
• Completed an accredited Emergency Medicine residency training at an American Emergency Medicine residency program and has been awarded a diploma for satisfactory completion of said residency.
• May have been trained in a branch of military and been honorably discharged.
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Maintain PALS.
• Must have current and active DEA registration.
• May not have had his/her clinical privileges limited, suspended, or revoked by any healthcare facility, public or private, anywhere in the world.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the past two years, working as an Emergency Medicine Physician.
• Must maintain a current, active, valid and unrestricted license or authorizing document from any U.S. state, District of Columbia; or U.S. territory or jurisdiction to provide health care within the scope of practice for a specific health care discipline.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
