Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; degree will be verified.
• 600-hour internship supervised by a Child Life Specialist.
• ACLP certification required within 15 months of hire.
• Experience with pediatric patients in medical, hospital, or behavioral health settings.
• Competencies in establishing supportive relationships, meeting needs of child and family, education, coping support, play, and documentation.
• Computer experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Assess, prioritize, and document pediatric patient and family care.
• Develop and evaluate pediatric care plans.
• Provide education, coping support, and developmentally appropriate play for patients and families.
• Assist in selection, supervision, and training of new hires, students, and volunteers.
• Educate staff through in-services and materials.
• Support community outreach and Foundation partnerships.
