Job summary

Orlando Health North Lakeland Freestanding ED seeks a Paramedic to deliver advanced patient care in the Emergency Department. Under supervision, you will manage airway, IV access, med administration within scope, and assist with orthopedic devices as needed.

You will collaborate with RN, RT, and ED physicians to assess and document patient status, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols while supporting smooth patient flow and timely admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Qualifications

• Completed a Paramedic program.
• Current Florida Paramedic PMD certification (renewed every 2 years).
• Maintains BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Maintains ACLS certification.
• Obtain/maintain PALS certification within 1 year of hire if appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Provide care with advanced skills in ED/ICU/Respiratory as directed by Medical Director.
• Communicate patient information to RN/RT/ED or ICU providers and document findings.
• Ensure patient safety, infection control, and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Prioritize tasks to maintain patient comfort, safety, and progress toward goals.
• Administer limited medications within education scope and competencies.
